Our First Tennis Match of the Year
Contribution by Kennith Griffin
Every year, my mother and I wait anxiously for tennis season to roll around. After spending the winter watching the biggest tennis competitions on television, we’re ready for the chance to break out our own rackets and play. This year, we chose a day that was still pretty cool in early March - and though it was chilly, it was well worth it.
We packed up our rackets, balls, and lunch, set our home security alarm from www.allhomesecurity.com/adt-security/, and made our way to the park. Once we got there, we were glad we had each brought along a hooded sweatshirt, because it was probably only about 50 degrees outside. Though we worked up a bit of a sweat playing, it remained pretty cool the entire time.
It’s always fun to start out with a warm-up on the backboard, especially since it was our first time out to play for the season. We spent about twenty minutes practicing against the backboard each, and getting back into the swing of the sport. Then, we found a court that looked a bit warmer from the sun, and started to play a match against one another.
After two matches, we decided to wrap up and head back home. We were so glad that we chose to go out and play tennis, and can’t wait until the next time we go back.
