Going To The Movies?

Thanks for the post from Barney Crosby

So how often do we hear, “ I just have to see that movie!” ? Well, if your family is anything like mine, you probably hear that quite often. Having a large family, I have found that the matinee is the best choice for us. The tickets cost less, (big family, remember?) the lines are not as long, and the theater not as full. Generally speaking, my children don’t want to be seen, even during the day, in a movie theater with their siblings. They each choose a movie they want to watch, and run off in every direction when it’s showtime. That is a situation mom doesn’t like very much. After all, how can mom be in 5 different movies at the same time? That is another reason why going to the matinees is better for us. Fewer people, less danger to the kids. After setting a pre-arranged meeting site when their respective movies end, we all head off to see that movie we’re just dying to see. Well, our tastes in movies is so varied, I wouldn’t expect everyone to want to sit through the youngest child’s idea of a good movie, anymore than I would want to sit through the eldest child’s choice. Of course, loading the family into the car for a trip to the movies is such a process that it couldn’t possibly go unnoticed. Even in the afternoon, a time when you would assume that nobody would feel safe in breaking into your home, some burglars will take whatever opportunity presents itself to them. So, before leaving for our afternoon out, we make sure that our portland WA alarm system is set for the doors and windows.
