As a lawyer, I worked my entire life to afford my dream home. It is fabulous, I must say. I am blessed to live in an exclusive community in Beverly Hills, California. Even though I have this great house, it has not made all of my life easy. In fact, there are many responsibilities that have been purchased along with this wonderful home. One of these responsibilities is keeping it safe while I travel during the summer. There are many steps I take to ensure the safety of my home while I travel for various vacations in the summer. In this article, I hope to share some safety tips for protecting your home while you go on vacation this summer.

One way I protect my home is by using a timed light system. This is simply a system that turns all the lights on within my home at a certain time every day, to make it appear like someone is home. Before I leave for vacation, I am always sure to set my Home Security alarm system. In addition, I am always sure to set my timed lighting system. One time, there was a thief in my neighborhood while I was gone on business. Guess which home the thieve burglarized? It was not my home, but the home next door. This harsh reality has taught me that having a timed lighting system is one of the most valuable ways to protect a home.
