Ways of Organizing Health Care

The health care is arranged and funded in different ways in different parts of the world. In Great Britain, doctors and hospital services are funded by public taxation and the health care is free for everyone. But in the United States, those who are affordable get better health care. The private hospitals are very expensive and the specialists are paid for by medical insurance. In countries like France and Brazil both private and public medicine are combined. People may experience wide variations in affordability, waiting times and the quality of service in any system. To close the gap between public and private and make better services available to all is the challenge facing by the World Health Organization and other national and international organizations.

In many countries, public spending on health has been reduced dramatically. The government is forced to find new ways to fund the public health care. One way of approach to introduce the user fees which are the paid for the service and this way is problematic to the poorer people. The West African countries like Nigeria and Ghana, the use of hospitals and clinics were reduced by 50 percent within few week when they introduced the user fees system because they could not afford for their medical treatment.
